The South West Top 100 – Ones to Watch – Hurricane Media

18th June 2010

It’s the time of year again, which the South West’s creative sector awaits with much trepidation and anticipation …  the announcement of the South West’s Top 100 creative companies. The league table of creative companies in the South West, which is published annually by Bristol Media, breaks down the movers and shakers in the creative sector in Bristol and further afield, plotting performance based on turnover as well as those companies that deserve special recognition for their work over the past 12 months.

We’re pleased to announce that Hurricane Media are listed as one of this year’s 10 SWTop100 – Ones to watch – for our work over the past 12 months. It’s been a busy year for us here at Hurricane, in which we’ve added clients such as; Peugeot, Asda, Britvic, The Royal Mail, The Royal Mint and Balfour Beatty to our portfolio of work.  We’ve continued producing video, motion graphics and other forms of digital content for a host of major international brands, as well as many smaller companies closer to home.  Our Hurricane Live offering for the live events sector has also continued to grow, delivering content for Virgin Media, Proctor & Gamble and a number of large event management companies.

It’s also been a great year for many of our clients with lots of familiar faces making the list.  Sift Media were listed as the South West’s top digital content producer as well as coming 6th in the overall list.  Hurricane clients IOP (Institute of Physics Publishing) were a new addition to the list, with revenues of over £37m.  Specialist Publications were another new entry, buoyed by a raft of new client wins over the past 12 months as well as focusing efforts on new technology offerings.

As always, the list is the definitive guide to the goings on in one of the UK’s most influential creative regions.  Mike Bennett, CEO of Bristol Media, was again named most respected individual, for his transformation of Bristol Media into a fee-based membershp, and the raft of additional benefits that the organisation is now able to offer to members.

The launch party for the directory takes place on 29th June at Jack’s Bar & Brasserie, on Bristol’s Waterfront. If you can make it we’d love to celebrate with you there.
