Our new TV advert for Sykes Holiday Cottages is the perfect antidote to the January blues as it celebrates the wide range of fantastic properties that the holiday brand manages across the UK and Ireland.
After the success of our pet-friendly campaign for Sykes, the marketing team were convinced that above-the-line content was a logical next step for the brand and we were invited to produce this new TV advert. The Hurricane team took care of the entire production, from scripting and storyboarding the initial creative concept through to casting, planning, shoots and post-production.
The pressure was on with a tight filming schedule of five days, one crew unit, and numerous locations, from the Mendips to Cornwall. Although we have to admit it was an incredibly enjoyable challenge, in stunning locations from picturesque lighthouses and yurts to coastal cottages and scenic castles, all hand-picked by the Sykes team.
Casting was all handled by our production team (who completely ignored W. C Fields’ advice of “never working with animals or children”). The cast comprised 11 adult actors, two children, and even a dog, demonstrating that Sykes has the perfect match whether you are a hiking hedonist or a surfing swell-seeker.
Since the TV advert was first broadcast on Boxing Day, there has been a hugely positive response. Sykes told us:
“This is the second TV campaign that Hurricane has brought to life for us, and it’s been a really rewarding creative journey, once again. The team’s expertise and attention to detail ensured every aspect of production went without a hitch along the way, and it’s already apparent that the final product is having a successful impact for us.”
