The Royal Television Society (The RTS) is the world’s oldest television society, and has been recognising the hard work of broadcasters, content creators and production companies since 1927. The RTS Awards are an internationally recognised hallmark for quality and originality.
We were delighted therefore, to hear this week, that we’ve again been nominated in the RTS West Awards for Best Short Film for a piece of branded video content we produced for Red Bull last Summer.
The film, Red Bull Generations looks at the See No Evil street art project which took place in Bristol. We worked with Red Bull to produce a short piece of branded storytelling following the artists journeys to Nelson Street, and their work creating epic murals, some as tall as 12 storey’s high. We worked with some of the biggest names in global street art on the project; legendary New York artist Mark Bode, Nychos, Conor Harrington, Bristol’s own Inkie and Nick Walker.
We join an illustrious group of nominees, with BBC Features Bristol tallying 17 nominations across categories including best male and female on-screen talent and best features and factual entertainment programme. The BBC Natural History Unit have amassed 9 nominations. Production company Icon Films have also scored nine nominations, spanning a number of categories from community media to international documentary to best newcomer. Testimony Films have been recognised for their work in documentary and specialist factual, with six nominations. Aardman Animations also have three nominations including Best Film for The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists.
We took home the RTS’ for Best Short Film, and Best Community Media at the RTS West Awards 2012, so we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that we can add to the trophy cabinet at Bristol Old Vic on the 24th February.
