Empire and Commonwealth Museum
Exhibition film to mark 100 years of the abolition of slavery.
The Empire and Commonwealth Museum wanted a film to capture peoples imagination at the start of "Breaking the Chains", an exhibition that marked the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade. The film explored what it is to live in modern day Africa and introduced the slave trade.
Hurricane flew to The Gambia, interviewed people about their lives and used images and graphics to introduce the scale and impact of the slave trade. The film made visitors feel emotionally connected to the subject and is on permanent display in the museum.
