Live event video marketing in the fast lane: Infiniti at Goodwood

01st July 2015

Team Hurricane embraced life in the fast lane last weekend at Goodwood’s Festival of Speed for new automotive client, Infiniti. Not only were we surrounded by the fastest of cars, but we created a video a day onsite with a speedy turnaround. We had been commissioned by Nissan’s luxury brand to film at their stand and promote their new concept car via a video-led social media campaign.

The Infiniti stand invited visitors to immerse themselves in the different stages of car design from concept to realisation. One of the concepts, the Qx30, was promoted via the Q30 “box”. That gave visitors “a glimpse of the future” teaser of this new car, to be launched in Frankfurt later this year.

By the end of each day, we produced a film to help promote the campaign. The first film was a 15 second teaser to encourage people to tweet #glimpse30 and light up the box to reveal parts of the new car. The next day we released the first 30 second highlights film, which was followed with another 90 second film which included insights from the car designers.

Live event video marketing is challenging, and we worked closely with the Infiniti team on location whilst editing the films in order that everyone was happy before release. We also had a photographer on location who liaised with the Infiniti social media team to upload a selection of pictures on the day’s activity by 5pm every day.

We’re continuing to produce a number of films post-event to maintain interest, including the release of two 30 second videos – one with highlights from the event and one focusing on the concept cars on the stand. Additionally we’re working on an extended film featuring the designers, which will be released on 6 July.
